Vienna OMV Corporation, 1996
Exhibition and education pavilion to display the process and benefits of hydrogen power for the OMV (an Austrian energy company) on the site of their refinery in Schwechat on the outskirts of Vienna. It may be the first building design to use 'Inverse Kinematics' that were rigged to both the movement of the sun through three annual scenarios as well as the movement of traffic on the adjacent autobahn. The scalloped surfaces of the building as well as the bulging photovoltiac skin were captured using these IK rigs. Designed in partnership with Michael McInturf Architects and Martin Treberspurg & Partners.
