The Architects: A Story of Loss, Memory and Real Estate

A yet-to-be-completed film about United Architects in the competition to rebuild the site of the World Trade Center after 9/11 will be screened at the Architecture Film Festival in NYC by director Tom Jennings.

Greg Lynn to give keynote speech at CAMX Conference

Greg will be giving the keynote speech at the Composites and Advanced Materials Expo on September 27 in Anaheim. Other speakers at the conference include Julia Koerner, Herwig Baumgartner, and Bill Kreysler. Tickets to the Exhibit Hall and Keynote Speech are free for current students.

The Piaggio Fast Forward Headquarters is now open in Boston. The 6,000 square foot office and workspace features furniture by Vitra/Prouve, lighting by FLOS, and a 7-axis KUKA Robot.

Greg Lynn FORM to Participate in Venice Biennale


Greg Lynn FORM will participate in the 2016 Venice Biennale as part of the US Pavilion curated by Cynthia Davidson and Monica Ponce de Leon.  This year the US Pavilion will feature 12 architects who were chosen to re-imagine 4 sites in Detroit, Michigan.  GLF was assigned the Packard Plant–the historic half mile-long, abandoned automobile factory.

Visit the US Pavilion in Venice, Italy from May 28 through November 27 to see all 12 designs.

Complexity and Convention opens at the CCA

The final exhibition in the Archaeology of the Digital series curated by Greg Lynn at the Canadian Centre for Architecture opened last week and will run through October 16. Complexity and Convention looks at 15 projects from the late 90s to early 2000s when digital technology moved from experiment to acceptance.

As part of the opening, the CCA organized “The Greg Lynn Show” as a mock talk show to explore the contents of the exhibition as a series of live interviews with the featured architects. Coverage from the Architect’s Newspaper below:

RV Prototype in SFMoMA’s Grand Reopening Exhibition


After acquiring the RV Prototype project last year, SFMoMA is featuring the 1:20 robotic model and section drawings of the RV Prototype as part of their grand re-opening show. The project will be on display from May 14 – September 18 in their Collection Campaign show on Experimental Architecture.

Greg Lynn FORM Creates Microclimate Chair for Nike at 2016 Salone del Mobile


As part of Nike’s Nature of Motion exhibit at the 2016 Milan Salone, Greg Lynn FORM designed a carbon fiber chair to regulate the body temperature of elite athletes. The chair uses temperature sensors, Peltier devices, and a 3D printed air flow system to strategically heat and cool different muscle groups to optimize athletic performance and speed up recovery.

Coming out of our work with HoloLens for the Architectural Imagination Venice Biennale project, Microsoft chose to feature Greg Lynn FORM in a recent promo. We are excited to continue working with their immersive holographic technology and are looking forward to having them at the US Pavilion for the opening week of the Biennale.

Greg Lynn FORM created a 1:2 scale carbon fiber section of the RV Prototype for SCI-Arc’s Close Up Exhibition. The show runs from March 11 through May 29 at the SCI-Arc Gallery.

The latest issue of Log is edited by Greg Lynn. The issue focuses on robotics in architecture and features essays by Paola Antonelli, Francois Roche, Andrew Witt, Erin and Ian Besler, and Guvenc Ozel among others.

Newport Dermatology Institute


Greg Lynn FORM recently completed an interior for the Newport Dermatology Institute. The project features a coved terrazzo floor, custom molded Corian cabinetry, and curved walls throughout.

Curbside Pickup Pod featured on Fast Company


The Greg Lynn FORM designed Curbside Pickup Pod is featured in the article “From App to Architecture” on Fast Company. The first Pickup Pod of many will open next week at the Glendale Galleria.

Greg Lynn to Give Keynote at 2015 Alvar Aalto Symposium


Greg Lynn is the keynote speaker at the 2015 Alvar Aalto Symposium on 8 August in Jyvaskyla, Finland.
