Dezeen has a feature on the Hello, Robot exhibit that opened last week at the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein. Two 5-foot tall Mobile Suits from Greg’s personal collection greet visitors as they enter. You can also see 14 of Greg’s 1:100 scale Gundams, plus the 1:20 scale RV Prototype on loan from SFMoMA.
The Swarovski Foundation, in collaboration with the United Nations Office for Partnerships, marks its 10th anniversary at the United Nations Headquarters by recognizing six young innovators who are leading the way in sustainable development through the Creatives For Our Future program. The Swarovski Foundation brought its global community together for the last time this year in New York to mark its decade of philanthropy and honour the six newest Creatives For Our Future cohort members. The evening included special remarks from Greg Lynn, Founder of Greg Lynn Form and longstanding program advocate and Amina J. Mohammed, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations.
On the shore of Lake Como, in Mandello de Lario in Northern Italy, the headquarters and Factory of the legendary motorcycle brand Moto Guzzi is being rethought with a series of new buildings and renovation to the hundred-year-old factory. While respecting the legacy of the past, new buildings house functions for both state-of-the-art manufacturing and for contemporary visitor experience of the past, present, and future of the brand. The project includes the conversion of a series of century old factory buildings and new buildings related to customer and visitor experience, including: a museum; a Motoplex® showroom; a Customer Center; a Factory Tour experience; and a Café. New buildings dedicated to building the motorcycles of tomorrow include a new: Engine Plant, Expanded Logistics Center, and a new Canteen with Offices and an Auditorium. There are two new plazas and a renovation of the test track. The project started in 2015 with a masterplan & programming and is currently under construction.

Piaggio Fast Forward moved into its new Boston office space a few weeks ago. The space was designed by Greg Lynn FORM and Rosie Kotelova, and is furnished with Vitra/Prouve desks and chairs, Flos Lighting, a custom Corian kitchen island, and a machine shop with a Kuka Robot. The PFF crew is hard at work on the next version of Gita.

Christie’s will auction the Joel Chen Collection on February 13, 2018. Joel is widely considered the most important fine furniture collector and dealer in Los Angeles. The film follows United Architects (Alejandro Zaera-Polo and Farshid Moussavi of Foreign Office Architects, Greg Lynn of Greg Lynn FORM, Kevin Kennon of Kevin Kennon Architects, Jesse Reiser and Nanako Umemoto of Reiser + Umemoto Architects, and Ben van Berkel of UNStudio) through the competition to design the new World Trade Center after 9/11.

Greg Lynn FORM presented a 10 minute film projected onto the facade of a castle in Karsruhe, Germany as part of this year’s Schlosslichtspiele Festival. The film follows Green Gita from Boston to Los Angeles to San Francisco using a robot-mounted DSLR and 360 degree GoPro Odyssey array. The festival also features films by Zaha Hadid Architects and Asymptote, among others. The show runs through September 10.
The Architetural Imagination is coming to the A+D Museum in Los Angeles. The exhibition that first opened at the US Pavilion in Venice, Italy in 2016 is coming to LA after a few month stint in Detroit. Greg Lynn FORM’s Center for Fulfillment, Knowledge and Innovation will be exhibited alongside projects from Stan Allen, MOS, Pita and Bloom, and TEAM among others. The opening reception is on July 14, and the show runs through September 23.
Greg will be in San Francisco on June 7 speaking at the Architectural Record Innovation Conference-West. Greg and Andy Cohen, Co-CEO of Gensler, will speak about Mobility and the City.
